Redesigned this album cover with the purpose of recreating certain elements from the original album cover art. There are elements like the astronaut, circle shapes and a DNA strand that my redesign shares with the original. I designed in the style of Rave Design. I chose pink due to the band’s first pressing of vinyl for this album was a translucent pink.
For Rave Design style, there is a limited color palette and the use of wireframes in the design. The back cover design I referenced an exercise I did a while back. It’s based of a sensory phenomenon called “synesthesia”, which is when you listen to music, you see shapes or colors instantly in your head. For the exercise, I drew shapes associated with my listening experience of this album.
Created a lyric sheet to go with the album cover. I wanted to match the rave design style and how the cover looked into a sheet of paper. I wanted it to all fit on one page and include pictures of the band playing music. I edited those pics to have the same effect of having a limited color-palette for the style.
