A budget-friendly guide on The East Village in New York. Guide is targeted to young adults looking for an artsy and cheap experience. The area is known to be a wealthy area but the guide highlights cheap or even free experiences. There are color-coded sections of each category highlighted throughout the guide like food, transportation, entertainment and shopping.
The design of this guide is inspired by New York City and the patterns you see around it, like brick walls, shattered glass, and graffiti. These elements helped shape both the look and the layout, which pulls from things like subway maps and the structure of city buildings. I added graffiti-style graphics to break up the clean type and bring some contrast. The colors also tie back to the city, with the blue taken from NYC FC, the city’s soccer team.
